This scarf is traditionally worn at celebrations and festivities.
The small details in the embroidery are a source of inspiration for me and grateful to use as a primary element in the box.
In earlier days it was the young maidens who embroidered this beautiful piece before they got married, with their initials and the year of the marriage.
Nowadays most people don’t have the time nor the skills for making this kind of embroideries and the old scarves are passed on from mother to daughter.
This one above, my mother in law Ingrid had embroidered by someone from the region with handiness for this kind of very fine needlework.

Ingrid is married in 1952, so this scarf has obviously been made somewhat later.
